I've taken such an extended break from livejournal that I'm pretty sure most of my more active friends have defriended me and/or forgotten about me.  That makes me sad, but at the same time I understand.  When I started writing on livejournal, I needed an outlet because my personal life was extremely unsatisfying and frustrating.  Livejournal provided me with a wonderful and supportive community at the time and for that I am endlessly grateful.

However, after getting my real life together, I found I had much less time (and much less need!) for livejournal.  I won NaNoWriMo and started working on more original fiction.  I still read a lot of fanfiction&etc on livejournal, but I haven't had much to contribute to the overall community other than praise for authors I have really enjoyed.

As of late, I have decided to start posting some stuff again, but it may not be in my usual oeuvre.  I am making this post to alert any who still have me on their friends list that I may be posting more frequently (or not), and it may not be in the Gossip Girl fandom that I one loved.  That is not to say my Gossip Girl fictions will be abandoned completely, but I will probably be posting in different fandoms and more original writing.  There are no hard feelings if you decide to defriend me because you want to keep your friends page devoted to fandoms you like!  All of my Gossip Girl fic updates will still be crossposted to the major communities, so you can keep track there instead if you wish.

I'm pretty excited, though, because I'm hopefully going to be posting some new stuff and that is always fun!

Long, long week.  Long, long couple of months.  Ever since the summer, I have less than an hour of free time per day, most of which I dedicate to sleeping//eating.  I have lost twenty-five pounds (mostly because I don't have enough time to eat, but since I spent last year eating my feelings and gaining those twenty-five pounds, I consider it all a write-off) and my perfect grades, too, but I've also made half a dozen new friends, gotten my life together, and won National Novel Writing Month.  Wins, losses, endings, beginnings.  I won't apologize for leaving the Gossip Girl Blair/Chuck fandom for so long, because I know that I didn't have the time or the inspiration, but I am disappointed that I still have several things unfinished.

I'm thinking about working on the Gossip Girl stuff, but I haven't had the inspiration necessary, unfortunately.  We'll see how the coming months change that.

In terms of fanfiction in general, I got addicted to a pre-teen show over break called iCarly and was struck by the large amount of UST between two fifteen-year-old characters on it named Sam and Freddie.  I wrote a little fic about them, which umbreons looked at for me for fandom continuity, and I'll post that today or tomorrow.  So if there are any secret iCarly fans on my flist...look for that soon :)

Oh, and one final number:

I can't wait!

At 3pm last night, I finally crossed the NaNo finish line and I now have a 50,000 word novel, people!

Now I have time to get back to livejournal, and fanfiction, just in time for the new Gossip Girl on Monday!  Although I may take a break for a while, I'm not going to lie.  NaNo took a fuck lot out of me.

NaNoWriMo is finally here!

This is my very first time participating, and I'm very excited!!!  I'm well on my way to 10,000 words (out of the 50,000 I need to have written by November 30th, 2008).

However, this means I need to write approximately 1.5 hours per day (to get the daily 1,667 words in), if not more.  That  means that my already limited free time is headed towards extinction, especially as it pertains to fic writing.

What does this mean?

There might be an update of Harnessing Chuck Bass or The Third Option (gasp!  I know!  I've been toying with updating it for ages).  There might not be.  The only piece of fic that I will promise you before the end of the year is Blair Waldorf Wishes You A Tipsy New Year's Eve, if only because I've already got a slamming title, and plus dialogue doesn't take too long to write.

Most extra time I have will probably go to seeing if we can launch another round of Gossip Girl Fic Exchange.  I've all but disappeared from <lj user="gossipgirlmatch"> and actually I probably ought to wander over there and help out sometime soon.

The gist is that I'll see you in the New Year, bitches!

Huh...I post on livejournally so randomly.  I am so swept up in real life, as I always seem to be, so fanfiction is on hold for a while-I hope not through the entire fall, but that might be true.  I'm still co-modding over at gossipgirlmatch , although I'll probably have to leave them at the end of the month just because I don't know if I can truly commit to it anymore.

On the bright side...second season of Gossip Girl is BACK!  (I've already purchased the first season on DVD and practically memorized it)  I'm so happy!!!

Seriously, though, I know right now that my future on livejournal over the next couple months is totally up in the air.  I will be back by November though-we're launching the next round of Gossip Girl Fic Exchange and I am very excited for that.  And hopefully stuff will clear up by then.

So "The Third Option" Chapter 7 is beta'd and all.  Unfortunately, the whole "Track Changes" on Microsoft Word thing totally isn't uploading correctly because whenever I try to copy and past the text into livejournal or upload onto ff.net, all the deleted words and stuff totally come with it no matter what I do.  So I guess I'll just have to manually make the changes in a different document, but I'm about to leave (literally-like in ten minutes) for a weeklong vacay with possibly no internet, so I'm effed.  I guess when I haven't posted in three months, a week here or there doesn't matter, but I guess I'm kind of disappointed because I really wanted to get the chapter up before I left.

So I thought today would be nice and relaxing (a bit like I thought yesterday would be), but I get a call from my friend this morning. She wants me to come to her birthday dinner and go see a play with her. We'd talked about doing this, but she never got back to me and I figured she'd made other plans.

But no, she wanted me to come along. So my plans of a nice quiet Saturday spent reading books and writing fic were dashed because then I had to go buy her birthday present (I'd planned to celebrate it with her in a few days so I figured I'd buy it tomorrow or something) and of course Saturday midday at the mall is a nightmare.

And I got back home SO late and then I still had some of the fic I'm beta-ing for isabellecs to finish and so I just did that. It's a fabulous fic, by the way, y'all should go check it out. I expect she'll post it in a few days. And now I get to go to sleep.

I'm excited because I finished writing Chapter 7 of TTO and I want to get started on Chapter 8, but I'm just waiting for Sharon (gleechild) to let me know when she has time for a beta. I suppose after nearly three months, a few more weeks doesn't matter, but I like to take advantage of the times when I'm inspired.

I think I'll go check out blairchuckdaily as I unwind. I'd like to write something drabble-ish and light without all that heavy plot.

By the way, what do y'all think of my new layout I snagged from the abfab Geri (glr1989? It uses the stylesheet Flexible Squares so it works much better on my Plus account. I need to beg Geri for some more Flexible Squares layouts later, though, I get too bored of having the same layout for too long and the only others she has made are Dan/Serena (yech!) and Nate/Blair (double yech!). The couples, I mean, not the layouts. The layouts are very pretty.

I kind of abandoned my email account due to the overflow of spam because I joined the SKoW group on yahoo.  So my project for today is going through the two hundred and five new messages in my inbox and maybe then I'll think about getting back into livejournal.

So yeah, by now I had promised to have a bunch of stuff done--fanfic, etc.  I've basically been MIA from livejournal for a while and basically I've been sick.  Did I ever mention how crazy Seattle weather is?  Well, because the rainy spring dragged on SO long I came down with crazy allergies/cold/sinus issues and I have been just too tired to get out of bed and drag myself towards my laptop.

And I totally apologize for shirking my moddish duties over at gossipgirlmatch.  I swear, I should be better by the end of the week.  It just didn't even occur to me that I had other livejournal duties since I have just been SO sick.  It's actually disgusting.  Just the sight of a Kleenex makes me want to barf, I've seen so many of them lately.

Ergggggh.  I hope everybody else is enjoying a happy, sunny summer wherever they are and I will probably be well enough to be on the computer regularly again by...well, this weekend, I hope.
